- Redefining a word or changing its meaning is known generally as semantic change 𝙤𝙧 shift.
"𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙙𝙚𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙚" is a word that has developed a “new meaning" 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 o̠p̠p̠o̠s̠i̠t̠e̠ of its o⃨r⃨i⃨g⃨i⃨n⃨a⃨l⃨ meaning.
A few people said it & I guess it makes sense……..
I say “𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝘾𝙝𝙪𝙧𝙘𝙝" 𝗆𝖾𝖺𝗇𝗂𝗇𝗀 as God said it should be like!
- But to 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 that hear me, when I say the word “Church”, they think immediately t̠h̠i̠s̠: “sitting in a church row &̠ listening &̠ clapping 𝐭𝐨 the Band leaders songs & then listening to a Pastor speak an hour long message”.
T̠h̠a̠t̠'s̠ sad & wrong & a disease! And one that I simply can’t get people to see or 𝙩𝙤 have a desire to fix.
— In a 𝗌𝗂𝖼𝗄 example, studies show that some women get so used to being mistreated, that they can’t even conceptually think of how a 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 marriage is supposed to be.
S⃨t⃨o⃨r⃨y⃨:
Today at the grocery store, the cashier saw my Jesus shirt and began to share with me how great she felt last week as she shared Jesus with people on a Train.
So I asked her “Did it make you feel good?” She said “yes a lot”.
- So I asked if she thought that maybe people needed to hear her short story and asked if her if it maybe helped some of them?
She said “Yes”.
I asked “can you do that at your church?” She said “well 𝗜 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝘀𝗼, 𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 not in the Sanctuary”.
I said “isn’t it possible that your 2 minutes were just as important or 𝐦𝐚𝐲𝐛𝐞 more, than the Pastors 𝘱𝘳𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘥𝘦 𝟭 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿 sermon?”
She said “maybe, but that isn’t the way church is”.
I said “well according to God, you 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝐛𝐞 sharing 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙎𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙩𝙪𝙖𝙧𝙮 a story & another 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 giving a scripture & another 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 starting a Prayer or Hymn - 𝙗𝙚𝙘𝙖𝙪𝙨𝙚 t̠h̠a̠t̠ is 𝙀𝙭𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙡𝙮 the way God said He wants it to be”.
She said “ok, but what about the rules & stuff?”
- I said “like the 𝘱𝘳𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘥𝘦 pamphlet & schedule & tithing 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐟𝐟?”
She said “Yes, those things”.
- I said “look, what God said - is what I do. People come in 𝙖𝙩 1𝙥𝙢 in any clothes 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 and I serve food & drinks & people can participate. If they need money or help - we give it. But 𝐚𝐭 𝐨𝐮𝐫 "𝐂𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐡" after I teach for about 15 minutes, people 𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙥𝙖𝙩𝙚 & ask questions, 𝙬𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙚 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞 give scripture, 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐦𝐚𝐲 tell 𝐚 short story, pray or even sing a song.
- They are 𝙖𝙡𝙡 free to be led by God & n̠o̠t̠ by a 𝘱𝘳𝘦 𝘮𝘢𝘥𝘦 schedule.
I have no rules on smoking or most other things. We 𝐬𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐲 celebrate Communion and focus much on Jesus, His Cross and the Gospel”.
- She said “t⃨h⃨a⃨t⃨'⃨s⃨ w⃨h⃨a⃨t⃨ I⃨ w⃨a⃨n⃨t⃨! Where is a Church like that?”
So I told her about 𝐨𝐮𝐫 McDonalds 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤𝐥𝐲 𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 and how we d̠o̠ Church -⃨ 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 way 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 God said to do Church”.
She asked for info - so I gave her one of the cards that I share the Gospel in.
H̠e̠r̠e̠ i̠s̠ t̠h̠e̠ p̠o̠i̠n̠t̠ - as many of you are reading 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 - your human mind has been 𝙚𝙭𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙡𝙮 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙙𝙚𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙙 & changed - 𝐚𝐬 𝐉𝐄𝐒𝐔𝐒 said with “𝚖𝚊𝚗𝚖𝚊𝚍𝚎 𝚝𝚛𝚊𝚍𝚒𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗𝚜 𝚖𝚊𝚍𝚎 𝚋𝚢 𝚖𝚎𝚗" - your thinking 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙢𝙞𝙨𝙙𝙚𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙙 𝘀𝘁𝘆𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳 Church 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗱 is mentioned.̠

I opened my wallet snd showed her some money & said "𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙞𝙨 𝙬𝙝𝙮. 𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙯𝙚𝙧𝙤 - 𝙯𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙖 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙨𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙚 t̠h̠i̠s̠ 𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙩𝙝 - 𝙗𝙚𝙘𝙖𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙩𝙝 𝙞𝙨 𝙖 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝘫𝘰𝘣 & 𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘺".
